A number of libraries are updating their FileMaker Servers to version 15 and then reporting that users can't open the Bar Code file.

There is a new default option in FileMaker Server 15 "Host password-protected databases only" which, if turned on, will stop the bar code file from being opened.

The Athenaeum bar code file is an open file that anyone can modify which is NOT password protected, which is why it may not be opened on your upgraded server.

The short term fix is simply to turn that FileMaker Server option off and then have the ap_barcode file opened.

Another option is, for libraries with support agreements, is to have us log in and make a quick change to the bar code file.

The longer term fix is to update to the current build of Athenaeum (19 August 2016) where that file does have default settings matching the higher level security.
