Interface

The catalogue list view includes item images, with interactive buttons (hover over a button and it highlights), “flag” symbols instead of check boxes when marking records, etc.

The detail view has embedded labels as well as re-organisation of the groupings of fields to accommodate new fields.

Note that the different image options at the bottom right have been consolidated into a single tab.

New Fields

The following new fields are available in Athenaeum Pro 2014:

  • content type (e.g. manuscript, recorded audio, etc.+
  • cover/carrier (the old hardback/paperback field)
  • genre
  • volume (e.g. the volume of the item in the series)
  • account code - every item can have its own account code, which is included in Excel exports and clipboard copy functions.

Processes

New Item

The new item script is streamlined into a single dialog with distinct steps.

If a matching ISBN is found in the catalogue in step 1, the title is displayed.

Duplicate Item

The duplicate item button now prompts for the number of duplicates to create and whether these items are copies (that is, they share reserves, reviews and book covers) or not.

Periodicals

When creating catalogue items using the periodical function, you can now specify default condition and the new fields content type, account code, volume and genre. as shown in this “empty” periodical detail screen.
